20-year-old looks ahead to fixture at Crown Ground and the return of Gavin Massey

Freddy Moncur believes Leyton Orient must have no fear when they make the lengthy trip to Accrington Stanley this evening for another crucial match in League Two.

The O’s are six points from safety with 10 games still to play in the division between now and May.

A positive result at the Crown Ground tonight would help Orient in their bid to avoid the drop, but they face an in-form Stanley side.

“We need to go to Accrington with no fear and we have to believe we can win,” said Moncur after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Grimsby Town.

“Obviously we know we are in a bad situation, but we need to focus on ourselves and if we play the way we did in certain parts last weekend, then I don’t see any reason why we can’t get some points.”

Accrington are unbeaten in over a month and have won their last two games – away to Exeter City and at home to Barnet.

The form of the Lancashire club has seen them move nine points clear of Orient in the table and briefly away from danger.

But Danny Webb’s team will be boost by the return of Gavin Massey tonight after his recent suspension.

Orient’s number 11 picked up his 10th booking of the campaign at Stevenage, so hasn’t played since February 28.

But Massey will be raring to go this evening and Moncur is looking forward to playing with him.

He added: “I’ve watched Gavin since when he was playing with my brother George at Colchester United.

“You can’t count too many wingers in this league who are better than him and he is first class the way he goes past players.

“His end product is great, so he can do everything and to have him back will be such a big boost.”
