Scan confirms worst for French midfielder
Leyton Orient have been rocked by the news that inspirational midfielder Romain Vincelot has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Frenchman Vincelot suffered an injury to his right knee during the latter stages of Orient’s League One loss against Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday, where he was stretchered off.
And a scan has confirmed the club’s worst fears as the 29-year-old has been diagnosed with a medial knee ligament injury which will keep him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Vincelot had made 33 appearances this season, netting four goals including a memorable Capital One Cup winner at Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
But Fabio Liverani’s side remain one point adrift of safety with 12 games left to play, starting with a crunch battle against relegation rivals Yeovil at Brisbane Road on Saturday.
