National League leaders Leyton Orient face a tough test as they journey to North Wales to take on title rivals Wrexham this weekend, writes Jacob Ranson.

The O’s will travel to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday as they look to extend their six-game unbeaten run and remain at the top of the table.

The Dragons are currently sitting in third place after only losing twice so far this campaign and will pose a tricky challenge for the Brisbane Road club.

Justin Edinburgh and his side will then return to E10 on Tuesday evening to host 15th-placed Aldershot Town to cap off a hectic week.

Orient are expected to stick with a similar line-up due to their recent success and midfielder Charlie Lee still sidelined with injury.

But 20-year-old Dan Happe could get his first start of the season after coming off the bench in the 45th minute of their 3-1 win against Bromley to replace Marvin Ekpiteta who picked up a knock.

Boss Edinburgh revealed the injury to the former East Thurrock United defender is nothing serious, but also praised Happe for his display.

“It’s a dead leg, I think there was a collision with him and two of their players, he tried to continue but it ceased up,” Edinburgh told the club website.

“I thought again it just shows the depth and quality of the squad, Dan Happe hasn’t played for a long while, but I thought he came in and looked immense.

“He just fitted in there seamlessly and I thought it was a top performance from him.”

If Happe moves into the starting line-up, it could mean defender George Elokobi may return to the match-day squad after missing the first few months of the season.

The 32-year-old from Cameroon came off injured during Orient’s second match of the season where they drew 1-1 with Ebbsfleet United on August 7 and has not featured since.

Elokobi has played in a few behind-closed-doors friendlies in recent weeks though, to build up his match fitness.

But that decision will depend on the fitness of 23-year-old Ekpiteta, who was named National League player of the month for September.

With two games this week Edinburgh may be tempted to rest the England C international and hand Happe an opportunity to claim a place in the line-up.
