Leyton Orient revealed a special fourth kit on Friday which is a nod to the club's historic role in World War One

Leyton Orient will wear a special commemorative kit for the November 17 home game with Bromley, it was revealed on Friday.

The kit, which features the iconic red chevron design with blue shorts and socks, is a nod to the club’s historic role in World War One.

Clapton Orient were the first English club to sign up en masse with 41 players and staff enlisted, but three O’s players, Richard McFadden, William Jonas and George Scott were killed in action.

Joint-owner Kent Teague last week said: “At Leyton Orient FC history matters. It matters to our community, to our club, to our fans and to all of us involved.”

Furthermore, the kit will not feature any sponsorship and the players will wear it for the National League home game with Bromley, which is six days after Remembrance Sunday (November 11).

The O’s fourth kit will be available to pre-order and is also set to go on sale this Saturday (October 27) when Havant & Waterlooville visit the Breyer Group Stadium.

A statement on Leyton Orient’s website added: “The club would like to thank our kit sponsors Dream Team, Goldline, The Energy Check and ReThink for allowing the use of an unbranded kit for this fixture.”
