Leyton Orient will look to make it 14 games without defeat this season when Sutton United visit E10 this afternoon in the National League.

The O’s have moved into first place over the past week following wins at Harrogate Town and Braintree Town.

As things stand, Justin Edinburgh’s side have a two point lead over nearest challenger Salford City.

If they can avoid defeat against Sutton this afternoon, it will ensure Orient head into the month of October top of the tree.

A big decision for head coach Edinburgh is whether to freshen things up or stick with the same XI which has started the last nine matches.

When pondering what to do for the visit of the U’s immediately after Tuesday’s 5-1 win at Braintree, the O’s boss said: “The players in the team will not want to come out because of the fear of not getting back in.

“So, we will look at the game on its merit and focus on Sutton. I always think the next one is the toughest, but we will enjoy this victory and look forward to Saturday.”

Edinburgh left Matt Harrold out of the matchday squad at Braintree with James Brophy returning to the 16 for the first time since August 14.

Harrold joined Sam Ling, Alex Lawless and Levi Lumeka in not even making it on the bench despite featuring in previous fixtures.

It is nice for Edinburgh to have such a plethora of talent at his disposal, but he will be aware of the need to keep everything in the squad hungry.

Despite this, it would not be a surprise to see Orient select the same starting XI for the 10th match in a row given how well they have all performed over the past six weeks.
