Talented O’s academy graduate will return to Brisbane Road on a season-long loan

Leyton Orient forward Tristan Abrahams has agreed a switch to Championship club Norwich City for an undisclosed fee, but will return to Brisbane Road on a season-long loan.

Speculation surrounding the 18-year-old has been building since he scored five goals for O’s in a pre-season friendly win at Burnham Ramblers.

Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion were understood to be watching the forward, but Norwich have stolen a march on their rivals.

Abrahams has signed a two-year deal at Carrow Road with the option of a third year, but will be part of Steve Davis’ squad this season.

The talented youngster has been loaned back to Orient for their National League campaign, although he can still play for City’s under-23s.

Orient are understood to have inserted a sell-on clause in the deal, but the final transfer figure is undisclosed.

Abrahams joins Norwich after scoring twice in nine games for the O’s last season, as they battled relegation from the Football League.

Even though Orient finished bottom of League Two, the performances of the youngster have earned him a sensational switch to Norwich.

But the good news for Davis and co is the fact they will have Abrahams available for the upcoming season and that a sell-on clause is understood to be inserted in the deal.

It is a remarkable rise for the teen who only signed his first professional contract with the Brisbane Road club last September.

Yet with the new season starting in less than a week’s time, it is hoped these off-the-field matters won’t affect O’s preparations for Sutton United.
