Leyton Orient head coach Justin Edinburgh admits it was a hard-fought game but praises his side for coming from behind to beat Bromley 3-1 and extend their unbeaten run in the National League to six matches.

The O’s moved back to top of the National League table as well as breaking a record as it was the first-time since 28, March, 2015 that they have come back to win a home league game after trailing at half-time when they sealed a 3-1 win against Port Vale. (Fact from O’s fan Matt Bristow)

John Goddard’s goal late in the first half gave the visitors the lead, but Jobi McAnuff and Josh Koroma netted three minutes apart before the hour mark to turn things around.

And Macauley Bonne added another goal to his tally as Justin Edinburgh’s men picked up three points to climb above Wrexham.

“(It was a) very hard-fought game. We know how difficult it can be when teams come here and raise their game and shut up shop. But credit to the players. At half-time, they came out with a real purpose.

“The break probably stopped the momentum for us but we certainly picked it up in the second half and went on to win the game 3-1.”

Captain McAnuff fired a free-kick into the top corner in the 56th minute to level the score and Edinburgh praised the 37-year-old.

“The free-kick was a top strike. I thought at that stage we were just going from back to front too quickly.

“The skipper has come up with a fantastic goal which then lifted the atmosphere and our play and we went on to win the game.”

The former Northampton Town manager also praised 20-year-old forward Koroma for his goal in the 59th minute.

“Listen, he’s a class act. The goal was a good goal. The combination play with Macaulay, he could have panicked, but he certainly showed maturity with a great goal.”

Edinburgh also didn’t want to comment on the incident after Bonne’s goal in the 77th minute to seal the 3-1 win at Brisbane Road.

“I don’t want to discuss that, it’s irrelevant to the result and the performance, but it was dealt with quickly and that’s what matters.
