Essex Senior League: Tower Hamlets 1 Redbridge 3

Redbridge picked up their first win of the Essex Senior League season after a Calvin Poku brace helped his side to a much needed win.

An own goal gave the visitors their other goal and although Amon Walton-Owen netted an 89th minute consolation for the hosts at the Mile End Stadium.

Tower Hamlets are winless in their opening three fixtures and will be keen to start changing their fortunes.

AJ Ashanike’s men return to action tomorrow evening as they make the trip to league rivals Stanway Rovers in the FA Cup.

If they manage to win that tie they’ll be back in action on Saturday in the Preliminary Round and bag themselves £2,250 in prize money.

The Motormen however will have a weekend off after failing to progress into the next round of the FA Cup.

Ricky Eaton’s side are not scheduled to return to action until September, 8, when they take on Clapton in the league.
