Uddin backs team to bounce back from FA Cup exit
Sporting Bengal player-manager Anwar Uddin is confident of success for his squad in their Essex Senior League derby against Tower Hamlets this weekend
The two clubs share Mile End Stadium and the game could be viewed as even more important for Uddin’s men as they are looking to bounce back following their 3-1 defeat to Basildon United in the FA Cup last weekend.
Uddin has played down the derby, though, insisting it is just as important as every other game.
“We are targeting every game as important,” he said.
“It is no bigger than any other game. All we can do is concentrate on ourselves and how we are playing.”
Sporting might well have been disappointed with their exit from the FA Cup against league rivals, while Tower Hamlets secured their progress with a 5-1 win at Wivenhoe.
But Uddin insists his squad have moved on and are now looking forward to their next big test against thier neighbours.
He added: “We have put the game against Basildon behind us. Tower Hamlets is another game and gives us another chance to put in a good performance.
“I’m always optimistic and I will always believe in my team.”
