Sporting Bengal made it back-to-back wins in the Essex Senior League with an impressive success over high-flying Southend Manor.
Imrul Gazi’s men had beaten Redbridge 2-0 at Mile End Stadium a week earlier and took a 16th-minute lead at Southchurch Park through Shiblu Miah.
And the visitors shook their hosts further by doubling their advantage after the half-hour mark, when in-form Oscar Almeida Mendes kept his composure to slot home his sixth goal in just eight appearances this season.
Manor’s Rhys Fatt reduced the arrears 20 minutes from time when heading home from close range, but Vinny Murphy was given his marching orders late on as Bengal held on for the three points.
Boss Gazi tweeted: “Pleased with that performance yet again. Another deserved 3 points away from home. Shows how far we’ve come as a team #workinprogress.”
Bengal will be confident of making it three wins in a row when they return to east London to host struggling Burnham Ramblers next weekend.

Tower Hamlets were stung by the Bees as they fell to defeat at Mile End Stadium.
Ade Abayomi’s side had taken just one point from a possible 15, but put up a brave fight at leaders Barking a week earlier.
And they opened the scoring on their own turf for a first-half lead, to suggest an upset might be on the cards.
Nathan Dewberry got the Bees back on terms in the second half, though, and Yaw Danso put them in front, before Reece Tranter sealed the points from the penalty spot.
Hamlets are due to host Ilford at Mile End Stadium on Friday (7.45pm).
