The Mile End Stadium club are set to play six games in the space of two-and-a-half weeks

Sporting Bengal United will look to build up momentum over the next week with two Essex Senior League games coming up.

The Mile End Stadium club thrashed St Margaretsbury 4-1 on Tuesday and will target more success on Saturday when Sawbridgeworth Town visit the capital.

After hosting the Robins, Bengal will then make the short trip to Mayesbrook Park next Tuesday (October 9) to take on West Essex.

Imrul Gazi’s men go into the matches with spirits high again after a great midweek win on the road.

New signing Jay Knight hit his first goals for the club at St Margaretsbury and went on to net a hat-trick.

David Vaughan also scored while Steve Carvell was at his influential best as Sporting were able to bounce back after a 4-1 loss last weekend.

Bengal visited Stansted, off the back of a 4-0 defeat at home to Woodford Town last Wednesday (September 26), and were beaten heavily.

However, after bouncing back at St Margaretsbury, confidence is high again much to the delight of the Mile End Stadium boss.

Imrul Gazi said: “It was a much-needed win on Tuesday and hopefully there are many more goals to come I hope from Jay Knight.

“But our injury list continues to grow as another one limped off at St Margaretsbury ahead of us going into a crazy October fixture list.”

Sporting Bengal are 15th in the table with eight points, but they have only played on six occasions while various teams around them have completed up to nine fixtures.
