West Ham United failed to land any of the big names they were chasing throughout January, ended up bringing in Jordan Hugill from Championship outfit Preston North End and National League striker Oladapo Afolayan from Solihull Moors on the final day.

The club also confirmed that Director of Player Recruitment Tony Henry had been suspended pending a full and thorough investigation after his comments on Deadline Day.

The O’s had a good week with a 2-1 victory at Halifax Town on Tuesday night despite losing 3-2 to Aldershot Town at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

They will return to FA Trophy action this weekend as they take on Dover Athletic with a few more options amongst the squad after a busy deadline day.

Fellow National League outfit Dagenham & Redbridge suffered a miserable 3-1 defeat to strugglers Solihull Moors and have now only won one of their last eight league fixtures.

John Still’s men also saw two of their players leave the club with the possibility of more in the near future.

All this, plus the latest non-league news, is discussed on this week’s East London Football podcast.

Matt Withers is joined by Archant London sports reporters Dave Evans, Jacob Ranson and George Sessions to give their take on another week in east London football.
