The Hammers only have eight games left in the Premier League campaign and only sit two points above the relegation zone.

David Moyes’s side have shipped 11 goals in their last three Premier League games, scoring twice, and the 3-0 defeat by Burnley last time out is a cause for even bigger concern.

Antonio scored in the defeats by Swansea and Liverpool and also netted twice in their fundraising friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge on Wednesday as they sealed a 3-1 victory.

The 28-year-old winger is confident now he is back fit that he can help fire the team to safety.

“I feel I’ve got the goals in me to keep West Ham up,” he said.

“In the last two years I got nine goals two seasons running, this season hasn’t been going well for me because I’ve had quite a few injuries, but I’ve come back now and I’ve scored two goals in the league and got a couple today (Wednesday) so hopefully I can carry on and keep pushing forward.”

West Ham now face a huge match when they come up against fellow relegation candidates Southampton next weekend at the London Stadium and Antonio wants the fans to stick by them.

“Don’t give up on us, the situation we’re in now, we’re going to need them so it’s not just us in the situation, it’s them in the situation,” he added.

“We’re all in this situation together, so we keep fighting and pushing together.”

Antonio and his team-mates spent six days in Florida to help bring some togetherness back into the side ahead of the final stretch of the season, adding: “Going away kind of got the boys to gel together, kind of bond as well as everyday you come to training, you can come in and you cannot really speak to players.

“We’ve had a bad vibe going round because obviously we’re not winning games and the gaffer thought take us away and change the mood, get a bit of sun, play a couple of bonding games and then come back and kick on.”

The former Nottingham Forest man, who joined for £7 million in September 2015, believes the mood around the camp is positive.

“The atmosphere is good, we’re in a good place now, all the boys are enjoying it and hopefully we can go out there and show what we can do.”
