Tony Cottee Column: Uncertainty has taken hold of West Ham

Decisions must be made as soon as possible
Uncertainty is the worst thing in football and at the moment it has taken hold of West Ham United.
It can lead to negative performances, a lack of confidence on and off the pitch.
Nobody knows where they stand at the moment, especially boss Avram Grant and although there was a board meeting yesterday, I can’t see a firm decision being made.
They should come out and back Grant and say he should be boss until the end of the season or bring someone else in.
The PR has not been good from the club this season. There have been too many rumours from unnamed sources and it is something which must change.
We live in a world of mass media where everyone has an opinion and letting rumour rather then fact take hold has done little good for West Ham.
We have some big games league matches and a Carling Cup semi-final second leg to plan for and the indecision will do little to help our chances of staying in the league and making a major final.
