DARREN RANDOLPH 9

Two vital first-half saves from Kante and Chalobah to keep Chelsea out and more saves after the break. He so deserved a clean sheet.

WINSTON REID 8

Gave everything with storming performance. Never seems to be flustered even when he gets beaten.

Booked it seems for Costa treading on the ball!

ANGELO OGBONNA 8

Seems to thrive in the three centre-back formation. Got stuck in where it hurt and ignores any mistakes he does make. His left foot

CHEIKHOU KOUYATE 9

Brilliant header for the opening goal and he broke up play, released players and got stuck into so many tackles. Has improved so much since being put into the defence.

EDIMILSON FERNANDES 8

Another incredible display from one so young. Left wing-back on Saturday and now right wing-back, it makes no difference, he is class. Superb goal too, before suffering a knock and being replaced.

MARK NOBLE 9* (man of the match)

Epitomised the attitude of the Hammers from the off with two crunching tackles. Assists for both goals and came close himself. A tour de force performance.

Fearless, sleeves rolled up, swashbuckling captain’s performance just when it was needed. He took the game by the scruff of the neck and pushed Chelsea on to the back foot. Superb.

PEDRO OBIANG 9

Tackled and won the ball, but he has also added passing and a bullet shot to his game. So deserved a goal for his efforts, but he is proving as valuable as anyone in this West Ham team.

DIMITRI PAYET 8

Not everything came off for the midfielder as he might have had a couple of goals, but he remained at the heart of the action throughout.

MANUEL LANZINI 7

Should have scored in the first half with similar chance to the one he scored at Crystal Palce, but was undeterred and kept causing Chelsea problems with his trickery.

MICHAIL ANTONIO 8

Given the lone striker role and put his heart and soul into it. Never stopped running, never stopped causing Chelsea a headache with his pace and managed a couple of shots along the way as well as setting up Lanzini for what should have been a goal.

Substitutes

SOFIANE FEGHOULI (for Fernandes, 66) 6

Worked hard and kept things simple at right wing-back. Managed to get forward on the break.

ANDRE AYEW (for Lanzini, 78) 7

Great to have him back as he adds so much more to the team. Almost scored with his first touch from Payet cross, he looked pretty sharp.

SIMONE ZAZA (for Antonio, 82)

Got involved and set up Payet for a chance he probably should have out away.
