Dino Gambetesa celebrated a shock win over Brad Wheeler in the headline bout on Ultimate Challenge UK's latest mixed martial arts event at the Troxy.

Jiu-Jitsu specialist Gambetesa, from Swansea, took just 40 seconds to overcome his Essex opponent on UCUK's Heat show at the Stepney venue.

The Welsh ace landed a fierce right hand in the opening exchanges and followed up with a flurry of shots to earn a surprise stoppage win over popular Wheeler.

The outcome saw Gambetesa avenge an earlier loss in East London following a defeat by former Cage Rage champion Brad Pickett in March.

Jamaine Facey also bounced back from a tough loss in his last outing with another quick-fire triumph on a dramatic night at the Troxy, which was also screened on Sky Sports after the TV giants agreed an exclusive deal to broadcast UCUK events.

Facey dropped welterweight rival Nigel Whitear within 38 seconds of the opening bell after connecting with a fierce knee to the body.

Team Tsunami standout Jack 'The Stone' Mason claimed another dominant win over Moldovan kickboxer Dorlan O'Malley after dragging the fight to the floor and finishing with a clinical arm-triangle submission in just over two minutes.

In the fight of the night, Bethnal Green ace Luke 'Cool Hands' Smith prevailed in a see-saw encounter to earn a second-round win over John Joe Ellis.

Both fighters had opportunities to take control in the opening round, while Smith was also warned for both head-butting his grounded opponent.

But in the second round, a weary Ellis was caught in a triangle choke to hand Smith victory.

Ultimate Challenge UK returns to the Troxy on August 22. See www.ucuk.tv for ticket details.
