East London Hockey Club’s women had a day to remember, with wins in six of eight matches played.

Karen Allan, Ailish Hendry and Lucy Dempsey netted as the firsts drew 3-3 with Crostyx, while Kate Hendry and Danni Pafford saw the seconds to a 2-0 win over Harpenden.

Lili Kettlewell, Stacey West, Lucy Scaramanga and Rosie Wood struck as the thirds beat their Old Loughtonian rivals 4-0, while the fifths romped to an 8-1 victory over Loughts fourths.

Phoebe Darwin and Courtney O’Connor bagged braces in the rout, with Fiona Isacsson, Belinda Le Mesurier, Rebecca Turton and Jo Wicks also on target.

The sixth team beat Wapping sevenths 3-0 with goals from Hannah McDermid, Amy Ballard and Penny Newson and the sevenths kept their run going with a 5-0 win over Witham thirds.

Emilie O’Brien scored twice, as Heather Collins, Karen Cheung and Danae Lopez also notched.

The only team to lose were the eighths, who went down 2-1 to Upminster sixths, but the East London ninths had a 10-0 win over Barts in the Tower League.

The men lost 2-1 against Old Southendian, with Jonathan Ogle their scorer, but the seconds edged Witham 5-4 as Guy Paul and Ewan Duffin netted doubles and Guy Perkins also struck.

The thirds fell to a 2-1 loss against Chelmsford seconds, with Mark Williams on target, and the fourths lost 8-4 at Clacton, where Daniel Williams scored twice and Max Bruegger and Jonathan Ray were also on target.

The sixth team are on the brink of the title after a 7-2 win over Old Southendian, courtesy of goals from Hiren Amin (2), Adam Butler (2), George Cooper and Samuel Willis, while the sevenths put Havering thirds to the sword in an 8-0 triumph.

George Clift, Lewis Clayton and Tom Parrott all scored two goals apiece, with Sam Horrocks and Matthew Bennett completing the tally.

The eights picked up a point from a 2-2 draw with Southend thirds, with Zafar Butt and Mohammad Noman on target.
