Millwall RFC have entered the record books after another devastating victory crowned the club's historic unbeaten season.

The Isle of Dogs side, who had already clinched the Essex Division Two title last month, finished the league campaign with a perfect record following a 66-13 rout of Runwell Wyverns on Saturday.

The emphatic outcome saw Millwall smash the 800-point barrier for the season while the club were also crowned champions with a points difference of more than 700 - both league records.

Millwall centre Tan Parsons said: "We were delighted [to break the record] and we celebrated hard [on Saturday]. This has to be one of the most emphatic titles ever in this division and it's great to be a part of that.

"We've got a great core of players here and we are looking forward to testing our mettle in Essex Division One next season. But we still have some very important matches to play this season and we are going to play and train extremely hard.

"Our goal now is to win the Essex President's Shield and that will be an altogether tougher challenge. But we won it two years ago and I'm confident we have the team to win it again."

Millwall's annihilation of Runwell was led by Naz Mohammed, whose latest hat-trick of tries capped an outstanding individual season for the prolific winger.

Runwell proved unable to combat Mohammed's electrifying pace and he proceeded to touch down three times, highlighted by a dazzling solo effort in which the Sri Lankan executed a deft chip before scooping up the ball with one hand and crossing the line.

Veteran Millwall fly-half Dom Sutherland kept his side in control of the encounter while the accurate line-out throwing of Luke Sanders guaranteed the home side a steady supply of possession.

Ever-present flanker Drew Benjamin scored twice while battering ram centre Louis Newton notched a trademark try, brushing off some ineffective tackling to maintain his solid scoring record for the season.

Meanwhile, Millwall's Under-13s side produced an impressive showing despite falling to a 29-19 defeat to Southwark Tigers at Millwall Park on Sunday.

In only their third match, Millwall grabbed two tries through full-back Jacob Lajolie, while centre Shaun Mulholland added two conversions from three attempts in a strong display of kicking.

Coach Chris Davis said: "Our attack was more structured this week and we used our strengths fairly well, but we need to work on our tackling technique and commitment in the rucks in order to turn this progress into victories.
