Understrength Lee Valley Lions were shutout by Peterborough Islanders in their latest National League cup outing.
Beaten 5-2 at home by Swindon in their first match in the competition, Lions travelled with just 12 skaters and goalie James Andrew to take on strongly fancied hosts.
And they worked hard to foil Peterborough until the final minute of the opening period, when Nathan Pollard finally found a way past James Andrew.
Islanders doubled their advantage just before the midway mark through Mitchell White, before Lee Valley’s James Jospeh was called for interference.
