Striker Jay Knight opened the scoring in the 28th minute but his goal was cancelled out by an equaliser from Mario Gjini in the 72nd minute to send both side’s away with a point.

Knight broke the deadlock as he continued his fine form for Bengal when he headed home from a Steven Carvell cross just before the half-hour mark.

Gjini then levelled things up here with 18 minutes to play as his low shot found the corner.

“It is what it is, if I’m being perfectly frank I genuinely expected three points, as I feel we’re the stronger team and because of the form we’re in.

“I had a good squad out, so I quietly confident going into the game, but to be fair well played to Leyton as they grinded it out to get a point.

“But you’d take a point as a worse case scenario and I put it down to missed chances more than anything else.

“I think I counted after and even watching back the highlights on Twitter from WD Sports – it’s blatantly obvious there was only one team in it in the second-half.

“We created nine one on one chances but you’ve got to take them.”

Gazi says his side must take their chances as one half chance cost them two points in the encounter.

“They scored off half a chance and that just seems to be the story of our last two games but we’re still doing really well.

“We’ve got games in hand so I remain positive.”

Imrul Gazi’s side will now travel away to Redbridge on Saturday.
