Bethnal Green manager Justin Gardner has described the decision to postpone Saturdays game against Barkingside as 'a joke' after he was told that 95 per cent of the pitch was playable.
United are in good form after beating Tiptree and then Mauritius and were desperate to keep that momentum going.
That, combined with the inevitable fixture pile-up in the coming weeks, as well as the fact that the former defender has a fully fit squad to chose from, has left Gardner (pictured right) far from pleased with the decision.
"It was a bit of a joke to call it off. They phoned our secretary at 10am in the morning to tell us that 95 per cent of the pitch was fine and playable," he said.

Bethnal Green faced Hullbridge in the league last night at Mile End Stadium.

But Gardner is now fully focused on his side's home clash with Enfield 1893 on Saturday and he pulled no punches with regards to the importance of the weekend's game.
"This is the game of our season so far. It's the biggest game I have been involved in during my management career," he declared.
"There are friends on both sides and there is no doubt that both sides will be up for it.
"We battered them 5-0 last time, but it won't be that score again and it will be a very close game."
The boss also revealed that he is confident of bringing a couple more players to the club in the coming weeks, but refused to disclose any names as his side aim for back-to-back promotions.
