East Moore maintained their winning start and moved to the top of the fledgling East London Sunday League table after overcoming fellow promo-ted outfit White Swan & Cuckoo.

Tony Field scored twice for the Stepney club, who are bidding for a second straight title after claiming the Division One crown last season, and currently top the Premier Division with two wins from two matches.

Homerton Rangers also boast a 100 per cent record after a surprise 5-3 triumph over two-time defending champions Meath United.

In a fast and furious encounter, Meath suffered an early blow when centre-half Alan Turpin sustained a broken nose following a clash of heads and Rangers capitalised by taking the lead through Lee Greenaway.

Danny Bradshaw equalised for Meath, but Rangers regained the advantage midway through the half courtesy of a Quincey Roberts penalty.

Luke Mason chipped in to level for Meath five minutes before half-time, but a lightning double from Roberts and Toyin Good gave Rangers a two-goal lead at the interval.

Johnny Quinn reduced the deficit from the penalty spot but the champions were unable to force an equaliser and Joel Appiah-Smith sealed Homerton's surprise triumph late on.

Hackney Downs have also collected two wins from two this season and have yet to concede a goal after a 1-0 win over AC Lucia.

In Division One, Docklands Amateurs thrashed Hare & Hounds 4-0, while Millwall Albion prevailed 3-1 against Hackney Downs B.

Jason Henry scored twice as Stoke Newington recorded a 5-0 win over Hatch Lane, with further goals from Jermaine Buljin, Luke Doyley and Victor Oshin, while Railway Tavern edged a 3-2 win over Holloway.

Acorn overcame newcomers Clandestinos 6-3 in Division Two, while White Hart Rapids crushed Chettle Court Rangers 10-0 and Ollerton Green had a day to forget as EFY B ran out 14-0 winners.

In the Jubilee Cup Preliminary Round, Stratford Juniors crashed out in a thriller as Premier outfit Crownfield secured a 4-2 triumph.
