Essex Senior League: Ade Abayomi wants more smiley faces at Tower Hamlets

Mile End Stadium club in more buoyant mood ahead of hosting Enfield and visiting Wingate & Finchley over next seven days
Ade Abayomi is hoping his Tower Hamlets players can get another positive result in the Essex Senior League against Enfield on Saturday.
The Mile End Stadium outfit earned their first victory in the division since August 31 on Tuesday night at London Bari.
O’Neal Rowe was the hero with a hat-trick during the 5-0 victory and Hamlets are now unbeaten in two after a goalless draw with Sporting Bengal United earlier this month.
“The boys were joking after Tuesday’s game so hopefully we are in good spirits again after Saturday’s match,” said Abayomi.

“We’ve played Enfield once already this season in the FA Cup, but that game is in the past now.
“We got a 4-2 win that day and I imagine they will want to get revenge this weekend, so we have to be ready for that.

“Over the last year we have had good games with them and they’ve beaten us before, so we know what they’re capable of producing.”
After hosting Enfield in the league, Hamlets will visit Ryman Premier side Wingate & Finchley in the first round of the London Senior Cup.
Even though Abayomi’s team will be big underdogs for the tie at the Harry Abrahams Stadium, he says everybody at the club is excited.
He added: “We’re looking forward to seeing how we get on in the cup and I like these type of games.
“It is good to see how the boys do because we know we are definitely punching above our weight in the competition.
“Everyone likes playing in the London Senior Cup because it is higher opposition, so it will be quite a difficult team selection for me.
“They will all want to be involved and Wingate is a good club in the Ryman Premier Division so it will be an interesting match.”
Hamlets confidence is high for the next two games this week after their derby thrashing of Bari.
Rowe netted a hat-trick and goals from Ali Ibrahim and Kamon Asidio put the east Londoners on course for their third win of the campaign.
“I said we need to get a few wins to pull ourselves away from the bottom three because we don’t want to be there,” revealed Abayomi.
“The plan is to bring more youngsters through but we need to get a few more results before we can do that.
“Recently we have been working hard to score goals and not making the opposition do the same – we’ve been giving them goals through mistakes.
“It is pleasing over the last two matches we have been able to stop letting other teams score easily.”
