Ade Abayomi’s team conceded early goal and couldn’t response, so suffered their seventh consecutive defeat

Tower Hamlets ended their home campaign in the Essex Senior League last night with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Eton Manor.

Ade Abayomi’s men were hoping to finish on a high at the Mile End Stadium and bounce back after the weekend.

Last Saturday they suffered a 6-1 defeat on their own turf to London Bari despite the visitors only leading 1-0 at the break.

Hamlets were on a six-match losing streak ahead of hosting Manor and made the worst possible start.

Dan Crowie smashed a free kick into the top corner after four minutes to put the away side in front.

Manor were without several players and had to put an outfield player in goal, but the hosts were unable to get back on level terms before half time.

Hamlets pushed for an equaliser after the break and created numerous chances, yet had to settle for a one-goal defeat.

Abayomi’s men have two more fixtures to play this season and will hope to end their poor form at Enfield this weekend.

Hamlets’ are currently 20th – third from bottom – and that is the highest they can finish this season, but lowly rivals Burnham Ramblers have one game in hand and are only three points behind the east Londoners.
