Essex Senior League: Imrul Gazi hoping Sporting Bengal United players can impress Bangladesh head coach Jamie Day

Entry is free for the exhibition match between Sporting Bengal United and Dhaka Akadash RC at the Terence McMillan Stadium
Sporting Bengal United manager Imrul Gazi is hoping to see plenty of people from the local area supporting the Essex Senior League club tonight when they take on Dhaka Akadash RC at the Terence McMillan Stadium in an exhibition match.
The game, which kicks-off at 6.30pm, will see the touring team from Bangladesh take on the step five non-league side.
Entry is free and Gazi is hopeful anyone needing a football fix will come along to watch a keenly contest match.
He said: “It’s an early kick-off and we are hoping everyone can make an effort to attend because we see this as a community event.

One person who is expected to witness the match is former Barrow assistant manager Jamie Day.

Day is the new head coach of the Bangladesh national team and has already been in contract with Gazi about some of Bengal’s players.
The Mile End Stadium boss is now hopeful his squad can do themselves justice when they face Dhaka Akadash RC later tonight.
Gazi added: “Jamie has just taken over and officially starts at the end of June/start of July, so I have been in contact with him over the past couple of months since it’s been on the cards.
“He’s familiar with the non-league set up here in the UK having just finished the season as assistant at Barrow and he is keen to look for promising British Bangladeshi talent and to try to give them an opportunity.
“I’ve made my thoughts on the likes of our own little midfield magician Ashaan Siddik very clear and I’m hoping this will be his opportunity to show what he’s about.
“I’m hoping Jamie agrees with me when he sees him in action and I’m looking forward to hearing what his thoughts are on Ashaan and the team. It’s important the players involved take this opportunity seriously because it could potentially open so many doors for them.”
