Sporting Bengal United was edged out by Southend Manor as they suffered a 3-2 defeat.

Steve Carvell and Tanvir Ahmed both netted for the hosts, however they could not follow up their superb midweek win with another three points as they fell to a narrow defeat against Manor at the Mile End Stadium.

The visitors had to battle for the win though in tough conditions and although they took a welcome three points the win was marred by two bad injuries which won’t help their cause going forward, however the win certainly helped their cause of trying to get back into the top ten.

Sporting on the other hand may be looking over their shoulders again after this defeat as they’re just three points above the relegation zone.

Imrul Gazi’s men will now have a week off before returning to action with a trip to the Old Spotted Dog to face Clapton on Saturday, February 24.
