Tower Hamlets manager Ade Abayomi is looking forward to the end of the Essex Senior League season after a difficult recent spell.

The Mile End Stadium-based club lost 1-0 on Monday night to Eton Manor after losing 6-1 to London Bari on Saturday.

Hamlets created plenty of opportunities against Manor, but couldn’t find a response to Dan Crowie’s fourth-minute free kick.

“Monday was close and we had a few chance, but didn’t take them and it was the same old story for us,” said Abayomi.

“Eton Manor did score a cracking goal and it is probably one of the best I have seen at this level for a while.

“But we did have good opportunities to get back into the game and we failed to make the most of them.”

It was a similar story against Bari last weekend, as the score was only 1-0 to the away side at the break.

Jairo Pedro converted a penalty late on for Hamlets, but they shipped five goals after half time to suffer a heavy defeat.

Abayomi added: “In the first half against London Bari we had three good chances to get back into the game.

“It was actually a great contest at this point, but obviously it was not enjoyable for me at the end and very frustrating.

“We can’t wait for the season to be over now, so we can rest and the boys can go off and do their thing. It has been tough.”

Hamlets have had a testing campaign and only won six times during their 40 fixtures to date – suffering 28 losses during that time.

Last season they won 10 games to finish 17th with 36 points and they ended up in the same position in 2015.

But Abayomi expects next year to be tough as well and discussed whether clubs from the league could soon be relegated.

He added: “It is going to be difficult next season for the teams that don’t have any financial support.

“I believe some teams could go down too, so I am going to have a chat with the chairman soon and see what his plans are and then we can go from there.”
