The horrific weather over the past week in east London meant that only games on the East Marsh could take place and Gascoyne will be thankful after pulling off a major upset in the Dickie Davies Cup.

The Division One side adjusted superbly to the wet conditions and beat Premier outfit Bancroft United 2-1 in the third round.

With the tie poised at 0-0 after 45 minutes, Justin Weatherman gave Bancroft the lead with a fine volley, only to see Kiren O'Donoghue level the scores.

With time ticking away the game seemed destined for extra-time before Michael O'Donoghue won the game for Gascoyne from the penalty spot with just four minutes left.

The win hands Gascoyne the toughest tie of the draw, as they prepare to face in-form Premier League leaders Lapton in the quarter-finals this Sunday.

Division One leaders FC Polit coasted through to the semi-finals of the Hackney Gazette Cup after a 5-1 win over divisional rivals Mile End.

Rida Knight and Bradley Mills hit doubles, with Liam Stefano also on target, while Lee Smith scored Mile End's consolation in the first period.

A goal in each half from Abul Thompson and then Ibby Ranks helped Lapton maintain their comfortable lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 2-0 win over Clapton Rangers, whose own title ambitions look to be fading fast.

Real Romania are up to third after a comfortable 3-0 win over Irawo Reds, as Ionut Coropceanu was on target twice, with Anoniu Miero also scoring.

Red Devils and Eureka played out an entertaining goalless draw, while a goal in each half from Keith Harrison earned OKJH a vital 2-0 victory over MSW in the first match of their double header.

Harrison gave his side the lead with a brave diving header in the first half and followed that up with a stunning long-range strike in the second to secure the points.

In the second encounter, OKJH took the lead through Dylan McEvoy, before MSW came back strongly in the second half, equalising through Danny Byrne, before a Jamie McDonald penalty won the game for MSW.

Vio Romainia leapt above Wounded Knee in Division One after a stunning 6-1 victory which saw Grab Ion smash home five goals.

Hodor Ion was also on target for Vio, while Jason Reid replied for Knee, who were only two goals down at the break.

Storm and Delta drew their first double header 0-0 in Division Two, before Delta won the second 2-1.

Doren Farmer grabbed a goal in each half for Delta, who move up to fourth, while Volodymys Transkyi replied for Storm.
