Real Romania responded to a first defeat of the season in spectacular fashion after returning to the top of the Hackney & Leyton League table with an emphatic win over Three Compasses.

The Premier Division newcomers, who suffered their first setback of the current campaign against champions Lapton last week, showed their powers of recovery with a double-digit victory over mid-table Compasses.

Prolific striker Ionut Coropceanu was again the inspiration behind Real's 10-1 triumph, netting four goals to take his tally for the season to 12 in just five games, while Mihai Cotnareanu also scored a hat-trick.

Florin Virlan added a double and Dorin Balateanu was also on target in the Romania rout.

Former leaders Lapton were held to a 2-2 draw by long-time rivals Clapton Rangers, who were on course to record a memorable win over the champions until Ade Wale equalised late on.

Joe Seabrook and Ashley Bennett had earlier given Clapton a two-goal lead, but Lapton's Jason Elliott halved the deficit before Wale's leveller ensured a share of the spoils.

Mutala Mohammed scored the winner for Black Meteors in a 1-0 victory over Eureka, while Raymond Gibson's second-half strike secured three points for Albion Manor with a 1-0 defeat of MSW.

Zeek Watson and Alistair Buffonge both netted doubles and Wayne Edwards was also on target as Red Devils collected a 5-2 win over Bancroft United, for whom Salvador Vives and Vincent Williams replied.

Former leaders Mile End dropped to second place in Division One following a 3-2 reversal against Wounded Knee.

Chris Leon scored twice for Mile End, but Knee hit back through a double from Eduard Mataj and secured all three points through John Bray's winner.

Adam & Eve are the new leaders following a walkover win against FC Highstone, while a clash at the other end of the table saw Vio Romania climb out of the bottom two as Ion Grab's hat-trick inspired a 3-2 win over FC Metwin, who replied through Stephen Prince and James Smith.

Goals from Dan Twort and Gordon Smith earned London Aprilia a 2-1 win over Lancresse Rangers, for whom Jermaine Hawkins was on target.

In Division Two, Cosmopolitan have kept hold of top spot following a 4-1 win over Hare & Hounds. Nathan Matthew, Dominic St Hill and Marcellus Joseph were all on target for the leaders, while Josh Stirling netted the lone reply.

FC Storm are a point behind Cosmopolitan after Konstantin Smal's hat-trick helped secure a 6-1 triumph over Lockers. Volosin Makism added a double and Ryslan Lipskiy also scored for Storm, while Archewio Araugo netted for Lockers.

Two goals from Messiah Odinima and a further strike from Jerome Anglin gave Tottenham Phoenix a 3-0 win over Lammas, while Ashley Green struck twice and James Brockbank hit the target as Athletico Angels inflicted a 3-2 defeat on Midfield despite Luke Trimm's double.

FC Big Kahuna thrashed Jay Cubed 5-1 courtesy of Jonathan Beer's brace and further goals from Tom Hughes, Louis Mitchell and Tom Rafferty, with Jason Harley netting Cubed's reply.

Leaders Hackney Borough remain at the summit in Division Three as two goals from Bobby Myers and additional efforts from Marlon Marriott Dixon and Awat Kiflyesub secured a 4-2 win over AC Islington.

Mile End Colts have moved into second place after a walkover against Maynell, while Kieran Conway netted four goals as Mustard prevailed 4-1 against AFC Knights, for whom Colin Orr scored a consolation effort.

Goals from Garman Ap Garth and Jason Rooney earned Hoxton Foxes a 2-2 draw with Alpha Grove, while Cock Tavern defeated Wenlock Arms 2-1 courtesy of a double from Darly Barclay.

Shoreditch Fire Penguins climbed to the top of Division Four after Steve Bond and Ian Clarke secured a 2-1 win over Comet, while Baris Sport are in third place following a 3-0 defeat of East London.

James Connor hit a hat-trick, while Mark Lawlor and Billy Fell were also on target in Eastway Olympia's 5-1 victory over Volker United, but goals from Jon Cutts and Jamie Thomas could not save Young Prince from a 3-2 defeat against Ravenscroft.
