West Ham winger Junior Stanislas is looking to impress new boss Avram Grant as the Hammers prepare for the new Premier League season.

West Ham took on League One side Peterborough at London Road last night and it is exactly the sort of opportunity the England youth international is hoping to make the most of.

"It is nice to look forward to a game and match situations. It will be good to play again," he said.

"Training has been difficult but they are easing us into it gradually. It has not been too bad.

"We were off for a while, six or seven weeks I think it was, so it is good to be back on the pitch and start training again.

"I just want to play and get as much experience as I can under my belt.

"I'd like to score a few more goals, set up a few more goals and do my bit for the team.

"The new manager has been watching us a lot in training and getting a feel for what we like.
