FC Leytonstone were on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller in the London Sunday Challenge Cup last weekend.

Ibrahim Khan, Zulqi Khan and Sham Subratty were on target against Kennington, but the away side triumphed 4-3.

Lemons took the lead when Ahmed Arab set up Ibrahim Khan to score from close range.

Kennington bounced back in quick time, before scoring twice more before half time to lead 3-1 at the break.

Darnelle Abraham scored just twice for Leytonstone’s under-14s on Saturday, but it was still enough to help them win again.

Having struck back-to-back hat-tricks, the forward had to contend with a brace during their 3-1 win over Access to Sport in the Hackney Marshes Youth League Red.

An excellent header from Ahmed Mohamed put the hosts ahead and he delivered a man of the match performance.

Mohamed played a part in both of Abraham’s goals to put Leytonstone three points clear of their title rivals.

“It was a tough game, A2S made it hard work for us, but the players gave everything and never switch off,” said manager Munaf Bharuchi.

Mahi Syed scored a treble to help Leytonstone’s other under-14s win 7-0 in Hackney Marshes Youth League Blue.

Centre A were the opponents and it was another excellent days work for the Lemons.

Abbas Mohamed headed home the opener, before Syed quickly struck three times. And Errol Matthews hit a fifth, before Jamal Burgess and Adnan Patel found the net.
