Tower Hamlets Ladies got the better of Tring Athletic in this topsy-turvy game at Victoria Park

Tower Hamlest Ladies got the better of Tring Athletic in this topsy-turvy game at Victoria Park.

Against the run of play, Tring took the lead.

Although mainly kept at bay, their attacking players looked pacy and well organised on the break.

Mooch Perkins in the Hamlets goal, then pulled off a finger-tip save to deny Tring's powerful central midfielder from scoring from beyond the 18-yard box.

Fierce midfield play from Kate Warner saw Tower Hamlets gain most of the first- half possession and Hannah Dalgleish equalised and then deservedly put the hosts in front.

The second half saw strong attacking play from Suzy Hill and Joanna Kononczuk, amongst others, while Katy Arnold was commanding the back-line.

Tring cut through the Tower Hamlets defence to equalise with only a few minutes remaining.

Sabrina Samuel then turned the match on its head with a clever piece of trickery to elude the Tring defence and then unleashed an unstoppable shot over the keeper's head to seal the victory for her side.

Meanwhile, a depleted Tower Hamlets reserve side drew with Hemel Hempstead.

The East End side worked hard in the first half, but neither side could find the net as the period ended goalless.

Into the second half and there was a noticeable improvement in the Tower Hamlets approach and they managed to find the back of the net, with the first goal of the game going to striker Helen Kiely.

Hemel Hempstead soon answered with a goal of their own and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
