Tower Hamlets will be looking to bounce back from two straight defeats as they host Essex Senior League leaders West Essex tomorrow (Friday, 7.45pm).

Ade Abayomi and AJ Ashanike’s men got off to a strong start this season, but lost to Basildon United 3-0 and Ilford 3-2 this week, and will be hoping to turn their fortunes back round at the Mile End Stadium.

“There are no easy games, everyone will fancy themselves now that we’ve lost two in a row,” said Abayomi this week.

“We have to switch back on and get back into it, there’s no other way out of it.

“The boys know that they’re good enough as they’ve been doing it from the beginning of the season, so they just need to find that confidence and start putting the ball away.”

Abayomi knows it will be a tough encounter as West Essex have got off to a flying start, winning seven and drawing one of their nine league games so far.

“They’re playing better than they did last season, so you’ve got to give that to them and their results so far has justified that, so we just have to hope on the day we play as good as we can,” he added.

“We’ll just worry about ourselves, that’s what we have to do – worry about our game – and as long as we do what set out to do, then that should be good enough to get us the win.”

The Hamlets co-manager doesn’t believe losing two matches is a reason to panic, but he knows his side must be more clinical in front of goal.

“It’s that bad habit of not putting our chances away, that’s our problem right now,” Abayomi said.

“You’ve got to put your chances away at this level, if you don’t take them then it comes back to haunt you.

“Hopefully we can do that on Friday and get back to our winning ways.”

Tower Hamlets may be forced into making a few changes to their line-up as the injuries build up in the squad.

“We’ve got a lot of injuries at the moment so we’re sort of moving things around and we may have to give the younger guys a chance,” said Abayomi. “But right now we’re not doing much wrong, so we want to try keep a similar team out.”
