Tower Hamlets joint-manager AJ Ashanike is confident ahead of their clash with mid-table Stansted this evening.

The Mile End-based club travel away to Stansted Mountfitchet (7.45pm kick-off) in hope of extending their unbeaten run in the Essex Senior League to three matches.

“We have played Stansted before and we’re going there with a game plan and hoping to get the three points,” Ashanike said.

“They’ve got some really good players in their team, but last time we played them in the cup they played a strong side whereas we played some fringe players so I’m confident.

“As long as we shut down Reggie Yembra.”

Tower Hamlets are expected to make changes to the line-up for their encounter and will be boosted by the return of Luke With and Kane Wilson.

“We need a win, but I will give some of the squad a rest and change it slightly,” he said.

“Luke With will be coming back and will go straight onto the bench and Kane Wilson will also be back.”

They go into the match off the back of a 2-2 draw with FC Romania and Ashanike was pleased with his side’s effort to fight back from 2-0 down.

“It was a good performance.

“It showed good team spirit and character to come back, especially against such a good side.

“The effort we put in was great and if you think of it this time last year or maybe even a few weeks ago we have lost, but the boys dug deep and done really well.

“The first 30 minutes was awful, we didn’t show up and we were 2-0 down before we even realised.

“Once we got the first goal I felt we dominated after that and we could have even won it with the way we played.”
