Tower Hamlets joint-manager AJ Ashanike disappointed with his side’s work rate in their heavy 5-0 defeat to Essex Senior League leaders Redbridge.

Hamlets suffered their second consecutive defeat thanks to goals from the Motormen’s Martin Tuohy, Jacob Dingli and Eljay Worrell, who netted a hat-trick at Mile End Stadium last night.

Ashanike’s men now only have one win in their last five matches but remain seventh in the table and the boss puts it down to work rate.

“I’m pretty disappointed by the way they conducted themselves, obviously they may not play well every week, but there effort wasn’t good enough,” he said.

“At the start of the season I did say Redbridge are a team that should win the league and they proved me right.

“They played us off the park, so credit to them as they had a game plan and stuck to it and done extremely well to beat us 5-0.”

The manager believes his side now need to get back into training and learn from their mistakes against Ricky Eaton and Joe May’s men.

“It’s a learning curve for me, my coaching staff and the players, we need to learn from it,” Ashanike said.

“We need to get back in training and build on it and learn from the mistakes.

“The last time we lost to a big team the reaction was brilliant and we went on a real good run, so that’s exactly what we need again.”

Ashanike also revealed he needs to work hard to get his best players back in the line-up.

“My team is not strong enough at the moment with the injuries and suspensions we have.

“We’re very good when we have our best 11 starting.”
