Joint-manager AJ Ashanike wants Tower Hamlets to keep their Wembley dream alive by progressing through to third round of the FA Vase against Enfield.

Ashanike and his men will host their fellow Essex Senior League outfit in a bid to progress and bag themselves £900 prize money at the Mile End Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

“It’s everyone’s dream to play at Wembley and it would be an amazing feeling to achieve that, but there is still a lot of games to be played yet,” he said.

“It’s really important to keep this run going and remain in this competition.

“If we can get a win on Saturday then it will be massive for the club as it will be a bit more money and it will make it a successful cup run.”

The manager praised Enfield and belives they are getting stronger as the season goes on, but revealed losing Carl Mullings is a big loss.

“They lost their main striker Carl to Takeley this week, which is a big loss for them as he was scoring loads for them, but they’ve signed John Bricknell who is a proven scorer in this league as well,” he added.

“They started the season slow, but have been getting better and better in recent weeks. They’ve been picking up some really good results, so we know it will be a challenge.”

The east Londoners go into the match of the back of a 6-0 defeat at Sawbridgeworth Town in Gordon Brasted Trophy in midweek.

Ashanike fielded a young team and even put his own kit on for the first time in more than a year and a half.

“The first team will be back for us on Saturday and the youth team will travel to their own game,” he said.

“It wasn’t a big game for us, the youngsters did really well for the first 20 minutes, then we started to make mistakes and paid the price for them.

“We’re getting to that stage in the season where there is going to be a lot of injuries and using the youngsters will help. Some of them aren’t quite ready, but a few are and Montel Williams was absolutely immense for us even though we lost 6-0.”

Neighbours Sporting Bengal lost 5-1 at Basildon United on Saturday.
