Ashinike and his side travel away to face Broxbourne Borough in an extra preliminary round match this Saturday (3pm).

“If we can get through Saturday’s game I think we could go on a good run,” he said.

“With the squad we have got I don’t see a reason why we can’t go far in it.”

The manager also admitted that he has been to watch the Spartan South Midlands League Division One outfit and was impressed.

“I went over to watch them,” Ashinike said.

“They’re a young side and a good footballing team as well.

“One of my mates is the assistant manager there and he says good things about them, this was before we knew we were facing each other as well.”

Ashinike also believes being part of the FA Cup is a great moment for every football club.

“Just being part of it and having a good run is great,” he added.

Tower Hamlets will be looking to turn around their winless start to the season and progress into the next round of the prestigious competition later this month.

The club suffered a late 2-1 defeat to Redbridge on the opening day of the Essex Senior League season and then drew 1-1 against new boyss Hackney Wick on Tuesday.

Tower Hamlets looked as though they were going to get their season off to a great start on Saturday as Hasan Mustafa slotted home from Wale Odedoyin’s cross, which looked like being enough as the match entered its closing stages.

The Motormen scored twice in the space of two minutes, with Calvin Poku getting them back on level terms after twice hitting the crossbar before Eljay Worrall’s 90th-minute header secured all three points for the hosts.

“Obviously it was very disappointing,” Ashinike admitted.

“The boys worked hard on Saturday and I think it was lack of fitness why they scored late on. I was actually surprised by the performance the boys put in.”

The manager also praised the opposition and admits they should be near the top of the league by the end of the season.

“They’re going to be up there come the end of the season if they keep that squad together,” he said.
