London Lions have acquired small American forward Ladarius Tabb to their roster for the new BBL campaign after two seasons in Luxembourg.

Tabb, 25, graduated from NCAA Division One college Alabama A&M in 2016, where he averaged 19 points and seven rebounds before turning pro in Luxembourg.

Playing for Arantia Larochette he broke the Luxembourg scoring record of 50 points in a game, going on to average 27 points and 16 rebounds, shooting 56 per cent from the floor.

Lions boss Vince Macaulay said: “Ladarius is an intriguing player for us, he is very explosive and flies above the rim, but watching him, he is relentless on the glass, never stops competing.

“He is going to bring a lot of energy for us, the fans are going to love watching him play.”

Tabb heads to London looking to contribute, adding: ”I have had two good seasons in Luxembourg and really enjoyed my time there.

“London is a place I feel I can have an impact, I play at a fast pace and will finish at the rim, I have worked hard this summer to add things to my game, I am ready now.”

Ladarius joins returnees Justin Robinson, Joe Ikhinmwin, Brandon Peel, Paul Guede and Jerelle Okoro, as well as Jordan Spencer and Kervin Bristol on the roster for 2018/19.

Fans will get to see the team for the first time at the Essex Classic at Brentwood Leisure Centre on September 8-9 and tickets can be booked through leopardsbasketball.co.uk with promo code LIONS20 for a 20 per cent discount.

The BBL season tips off at the Copper Box on September 21 when the Glasgow Rocks are the visitors.
