London Docklands Volleyball consolidated their second place in National League Division 1 with a 3-0 win over City of Bristol.

Docklands' task was made easier when Bristol were delayed en route and despite being given 30 minutes grace did not make it for the new official start time. This meant that Docklands were awarded the first set 25-0.

When the match started for real Docklands got off to a flyer with service pressure from Boris Halatchev helping them take a 5-1 lead. Vladimir Musalimov stopped the rot for Bristol with two consecutive points. Docklands' Raf D�rr got his side back on track with a thunderous kill and a clinical block on Musalimov. Kills by Mohammed Sliti and Riccardo Senatore kept the scoreboard ticking over for Docklands as they led 14-10. But then a service run from Musalimov turned the set on its head, forcing Docklands coach Ian Legrand to call a time out with his side behind for the first time at 15-14.

Senatore tied the scores but by the time he was blocked by Milosz Kuchajewicz the pressure was on Docklands, 19-17 down before Kuchajewicz service helped put Docklands 21-19 ahead.

A kill by D�rr stretched the home side's lead and a smash by Senatore sealed the set 25-22 for Docklands.

The teams exchanged points in set three until blocks by Halatchev and Daniele Di Bella, followed by an ace by Sliti, took Docklands 12-8 ahead. This time Docklands were not going to let go of their four point advantage as blocks by Blake and Halatchev helped maintain their leadas Docklands ra out comfortable victors.

Docklands now have a weekend break before they kick off their KO Cup campaign against Plymouth Activate who are currently bottom of Division 2.
