London Raider’s match against Wightlink Raiders tomorrow has been postponed due to the visitors kit being locked in their rink.

The Lee-Valley based side have reluctantly been forced to postpone this weekends home game, after the opposition have been locked out of their home rink by baliffs in a dispute.

Ryde Arena ice rink has been closed and locked after bailiffs moved in to repossess the property from Ryde Arena Limited on behalf of the landlord AEW Europe/BNY Mellon Trust and Depository (UK) Limited on Thursday evening.

A club statement said: “Despite the best efforts of league officials trying to reason with the building operators and explaining that our charity match was at stake, the building remains locked and IOW are unable to fulfill Sundays fixture.

“Such intransigence is disappointing even if we are unaware of the full circumstances.

“Numerous phone calls have been made in an attempt to organise a replacement fixture unfortunately to no available.”

A new date will be re-arranged for this fixture.
