Tower Hamlets Ravens under-16s maintained their unbeaten record in the league with a 34-28 success over Activities 4U.

In a close match, Ravens were pushed hard right up until the final quarter by their rivals, who provided formidable competition.

But resilient and tenacious defence from the Bishop Challoner trio of Lexuel Maize, Tobi Falola and Aaron Badibo broke through and extended their lead to secure a 34-28 victory.

The win was also also marked by an impressive debuts from Morpeth Secondary’s Abbas Abdullah and Sir John Cass’s Andre Parker.

Ravens under-12s were also looking to maintain an unbeaten record, but saw it go against another Activities 4U side on a busy afternoon for the youngsters.

The Tower Hamlets team faced Eastside Eagles straight after and were determined to bounce back from their earlier disappointment.

With the scores tied at 15-15, a late rally from the Eagles saw them snatch a 19-15 triumph.

Despite the defeat there were impressive performances from Sir John Cass’s Jaheim Pink who continued to play above his age and Simeon Anthony from Raines Foundation.

Twenty-five pupils from Marner, Culloden, Lansbury Lawrence, Bygrove and Manorfield Primary Schools attend a Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation’s Year 3 Sporting Diamonds holiday camp at Langdon Park School.

The programme aims to identify talented children from in year three across Tower Hamlets schools that display sporting talent and allow them to experience a breadth of sports during the week of the camp.

The pupils had coaching in various sports such as badminton, hockey, cricket and even BMX at the Lee Valley Velopark.
