NewVic’s first match of the day came against BSix College, when they batted first and posted 124-4 from their 10 allocated overs.

Azhar Uddin (27), Shafi Mohammed (18) and captain Rafe Islam (12) all contributed with the bat, but the highest scorer for NewVic proved to be extras, which added a whopping 49 to the total.

BSix offered little in their run-chase and were all out for 37 inside seven overs, as Azlan Bhuiyan (3-19) and Arafat Bhuiyan (1-6) did the damage with the ball.

Tower Hamlets beat a Rahib Hoque-inspired Havering by three wickets.

Havering batted first with Hoque (38) helping his side post a competitive score, while the rest of the team only submitted single figure scores.

The final total of 78 never looked too challenging for Tower Hamlets, though, and they were led to victory by Nazmul Ahmed (20), skipper Ruhul Islam (18) and Tarek Ahmed (15), despite the best efforts of man-of-the-match Hoque (2-21).

NewVic College completed their perfect afternoon with a comfortable win against George Monoux College.

George Monoux reached a total of 59, largely thanks to Y Kazi (17) and Hanif Khan (16).

NewVic were clearly in a hurry to seal the win and did so in under five overs.

Openers Sohail Khan (22) and Muhammad Ahsan (17) looked set to seal the triumph, only for Ahsan to be run out and Mohammed Rahman delivered the killer blow.
