East London’s women hit East League Division One South leaders Maidstone for six with a stunning display.

After falling behind in a shaky start, they scored four times before half time to take control.

Ailish Hendry, Carly Dickinson (penalty) and Lucy Dempsey (2) turned the match on its head, with Renske Pesch adding a fifth after the restart.

Another penalty flick from Dickinson completed the 6-1 win as Maidstone’s unbeaten record was ended inemphatic style.

The thirds beat Witham 3-1, with Jessica Ellery firing home an early short corner.

Witham levelled, but East kept calm and Lili Kettlewell struck twice in quick succession to seal the points as Lucy Scaramanga took the player of the match award.

The fourths romped to a 7-0 win over Colchester seconds, as player of the match Tara Annison’s hat-trick led the way.

Charlotte Critchley, Rebecca Smart, Phoebe Darwin and Alice Dolton were also on target in a strong performance.

Courtney O’Connor (penalty) and player of the match Georgina Box netted as the fifth team beat County Wanderers 2-0, while the sevenths ran out 7-0 winners over Thurrock thirds.

Dane Lopez and Amy Ballard scored twice each, with Emilie O’Brien, Fran Jarvis and Ruby Beardsall also on target.

Rachel Farmer’s goal was only a consolation as the eighth team lost 4-1 to Upminster fifths, while Hannah Conway netted as the ninth team were edged out 2-1 by Romford seconds.

The men beat West Herts seconds by the same margin, with goals from man of the match Ewan Duffin and Ben Gregory, but the thirds lost 4-2 to Clacton, as Mike Hazlewood and George Fall found the target.

Joe Williams (2), Ross Hannah, Alex Hommerson and Dan Moore led the fourths to a 5-0 win over Havering seconds, but the fifths lost 3-2 to Rochford after Jack Owen and James Smith struck.

Ben Tucker’s goal earned the sixth team a 1-1 draw at Maldon seconds, while the sevenths shared four goals with Brentwood fourths, with Alastair Greenless and George Winter scoring.

Sarban Hoonjan hit a hat-trick as the eighths won 4-1 against Old Southendian fifths, with Miftha Islam also on target, but the ninths lost 4-2 to Saffron Walden eights, as Kwame Owusu-Boateng got their man of the match vote.
