Women will meet at Lee Valley on June 10

England Hockey has announced that England’s women will be taking on Argentina on June 10, after the June 11 clash with the Netherlands sold out within minutes earlier this year.

Great Britain’s gold medal at the Rio Olympics has seen an increase in demand and England Hockey has been seeking additional opposition to enable the British public to see their heroines in action.

It has also been able to invest in an extra stand for both matches, meaning England-Netherlands tickets for the additional unsold stand will also go on sale with the Argentina tickets on 10 June.

The weekend of June 10-11 now sees the world’s top three women’s hockey teams facing off against each other in a series of fixtures that will be known as the Investec Internationals, as part of England and Great Britain’s Principal Partner Investec’s fantastic contribution to women’s hockey in the UK.

Both matches will take place at the home of international hockey, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Argentina, known as Las Leonas, were silver medallists at the London 2012 Olympics and won the Champions Trophy hosted by England Hockey at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in 2016.

Fans who were unable to secure tickets for England-Netherlands previously are encouraged to get their tickets to the match as again these matches are expected to sell out.

The three teams currently hold all of the major titles in hockey, with England/Great Britain winning gold in the Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015 before their gold in Rio.

To sign up for updates on tickets including the launch of these matches, fans should subscribe to England Hockey’s tickets newsletter.
