Wapping women’s fourth and seventh teams claimed wins to ensure escape from relegation at the weekend.

Ruadhan Jenkins and Ellie Brooke netted as the fourths beat Southend 2-1, with Cerys Jenkins their player of the matchh.

And goals from Molly Smith and Claire Durrans saw the sevenths to a 2-0 win over Waltham Forest thirds, as Hannah Billson took the player of the match award.

Amy Christie (2) and Bee Hughes netted as the sixth team beat Basildon fourths 3-0, while Sam Dale (2), Kate Geal and Rachael Collins led the eighths to a 4-1 win over Upminster fifths.

The seconds had claimed a 2-0 win over Saffron Walden last Thursday, with goals from Fran Sutton and Lou Song, but the fifths lost 3-1 to Basildon thirds, with Anna Nicklin netting their consolation, on Saturday and went down 5-0 against Havering on Sunday.

The men’s seconds were 3-2 winners over Ipswich ES, while the fourths beat Cambs South 4-0 with goals from Chris Holland, Harith Aldeghather, Darren Hutchinson and Matt Wilson.

And the sixth team took the points from a 3-1 victory over Chelmsford thirds, in which Harry Frost, Iain Davidson and Tim Alexander all got on the scoresheet.

Rory Cameron, Fareed Anees and Sahil Haris hit the target to lead the sevenths to a 3-2 success over Brainntree, but the fifths went down 3-1 to Chelmsford seconds, with Kieran Edwards netting their lone goal.
