Wapping’s women went goal crazy in the Essex League at the weekend.

Olivia Griffiths helped herself to no fewer than six goals as the sixth team romped to an 8-0 success over Southend seconds, with Christina Cassidy and Emma McCready also on target.

But the sevenths proved even more clinical as they recorded a 20-0 victory over Waltham Forest fourths.

Sarah Arrell’s five-goal haul led the way, with Lizzie Hard and Ali Scott netting four each and Sarah Humphreys hitting a hat-trick.

Anna Notman struck twice, with Alice Warne and Jill Townley completing the rout.

The thirds got the better of Southend by the odd goal in five, thanks to goals from Harri Simmons Mason, Sacha Cooper and Sandra Akinbolu, while the eighths drew 2-2 with Upminster fifths, as Holly Waite and Nicky Easson found the target.

But the fourths were held to a 0-0 draw by Crostyx seconds, while the seconds and fifths lost 2-0 to Crostyx and Old Loughts thirds respectively.

Meanwhile, the men’s thirds claimed a 7-2 victory over Broxbourne as Ross Townley (2), Michael Bolle, Kamal Pun, Richard Ripper, Josh Roberts and Alex White all got their names on the scoresheet.

And the fourths beat Waltham Forest seconds 3-0 on account of goals from Will Epsom, Mark Rogby and Jon Broomfield, as the sixths defeated Upminster 2-0 thanks to Dean Monk and Iain Davidson goals.

Kevin Sonneveld’s double saw the ninths beat Witham fourths 2-0, while Etienne Stalmans and Rel Desai led the 11ths to a 2-1 win over London Royals.

The fifths drew 3-3 with Witham, as the eighths and 10ths drew 2-2 with Redbridge seconds and Upminster fifths.
