The Romford-based outfit welcome Doug Shepherd’s men to their new Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre home on Sunday (5.15pm) as they look to continue their unbeaten start to life in their new rink.

The 25-year-old Lack, who won the now defunct English Premier League with the Bison in the 2015/16 campaign, left the Hampshire-based club midway through last season to rejoin the Raiders.

And he is now looking to get a result against the Bison, although he expects it to be a real tough test against the leaders.

“It is always nice playing against an old team, especially when you achieved some much with them,” Lack said.

“I believe this weekend will be one of the best fixtures of the year and I for one am really looking forward to playing in it.

“Getting a win over them would just top the season and my career off for me.”

The winger wants to get a win over every side in the National League and Basingstoke is the only outfit Raiders have failed to beat so far this campaign.

“Playing against Basingstoke is always hard as they’re a really hard-working team, combined with having a high level of skill in their team.

“It would be great to get the win against them, as it means we would have beaten every team in the league at least once.”

The Raiders have played two matches in their new rink, sealing a 5-2 victory against strugglers Cardiff Fire on opening night before beating Swindon Wildcats after penalty shots.

Lack wants to continue their home form and send a message to the league by making their new home a tough place to visit.

“We’re really trying to send a message to the other teams in the league about our new rink and make it become a place where away teams hate to come and play,” he added.

The former Bracknell Bees and Slough Jets forward also believes their new rink has so much potential and is a great asset to local residents, saying: “I like the new rink. It has everything for a great future in hockey in the local area and it also brings a lot more than that for the whole community.”
