Azerbaijani team are tough opponents
Repton boxers face a strong Azerbaijani team tonight (Friday) at York Hall, and have strengthened their squad by calling on the services of England Elite titleholder Harvey Horn.
Horn upset the odds by winning the national title in style and has anwered the call to join a ‘Repton Select’ squad against powerful rivals from the Azerbaijani club Gabala at the famous fight venue.
The Bethnal Green club stepped forward to stage a special charity night to mark World Refugee Week and also raise funds for the Mo Farah Foundation.
And the rival teams will have celebrity leaders – ex-England and Arsenal skipper Tony Adams manages the visitors, as Repton’s former world champion Darren Barker heads the home team.

Although several home club seniors are not available, Repton have called up guest boxers and are confident they can match the Gabala team when top class amateur boxing makes a welcome return to York Hall.
Alongside the team match, Repton will parade the prospects from the junior section, which has once again proved the strongest in the country this season.
