MILLWALL rugby club remain top of the Essex Divison Two season after recording a sixth win in as many games with a 43-13 rout of Runwell Wyverns on Saturday.

The Isle of Dogs side have now taken the maximum 12 points this season, amassing a points difference of 278 - more than twice that of promotion rivals Old Cooperians.

Winger Roberto Pescador touched down in the left corner to open the scoring against Runwell before lock Gerrie van Eeden crashed through some weak tackles to cross under the posts.

Runwell fought back after half-time but Millwall showed their class and continued to score regularly, with winger Ben Smith capping a flowing move on his return from an ankle injury.
