MILLWALL rugby club are building a dynasty in Tower Hamlets after two new sides took the field in the club's colours last weekend.

The Isle of Dogs outfit fielded a fourth team for the first time on Saturday in a match against Woodford, while the junior Lions put out an Under-15 side in an encounter with East London the following day.

And Youth chairman Matt Shorrock, who also took on the reigns as manager of the fourth team, has revealed that there are further plans for expansion in the coming months.

He said: "We are progressing well with our plans to field an Under-9s and Under-11s team to complement our Under-15s and Under-17s.

"This season has been exceptional in terms of the number of players pulling on a Millwall jersey."

Millwall's fourth team put in a respectable performance against more-experienced Woodford, despite slipping to a 32-10 defeat.

Debutants Aaron Dean and Jimmy Clode touched down to keep Millwall in the match, while Billy Gray produced a superb display of kicking, but Woodford's dominant forwards laid the platform for victory.

The Under-15s also fell to a heavy defeat against East London but the enthusiasm and determination of the Millwall youngsters shone through, with scrum-half Josh Cooke highlighting his man of the match performance by setting up Charlie Brennand's debut try.
